This is ideal when shaving a spherical and bony surface like the skull. That said, the weakness of this shaver is the closeness. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still adequate and good enough for most, but the other ones will shave a bit closer which I understand is the most important aspect for you.

Lubricating the cutters (with clipper oil or a spray lubricant) will be beneficial and also reduce the wear and the heat.And it is indeed better than the Panasonic Hybrid I have been using until now. But I can't say it's night and day. More like 40-50% better. And likely not better than the best Philips models. I still need to go over and over my chin and jawline to get a close shave and I can't say that even then it is super smooth. It might be my technique for sure, but not only. The double blades certainly help, but again, I was dearly hoping for more from this and now consider it puzzingly overpriced. The battery life is nowhere near as good compared to the BaBylissPRO FOILFX02, but the ProFoil is still able to provide a respectable one hour of cordless use. I think the choice should be between the Panasonic shavers or the BaBylissPRO. I think the latter has a slight advantage when it comes to the closeness of a dry shave and the fantastic battery life, but for everything else (comfort, versatility, speed, wet/dry use), the Panasonic shavers have the edge.
