About this deal

We set it to steam for six minutes, there was a seven-minute preheat but after the 13 minute total cook time, the broccoli was perfectly cooked and al dente. There’s also a very handy recipe booklet to guide you through the various modes and functions and help you achieve the best results if you’re new to using this style of multi cooker. Natural Pressure Release: When pressure cooking is complete, pressure will naturally release from the unit as it cools down. Setting it to pressure cook on high was easy, it preheated for seven and a half minutes, then cooked for a further seven minutes. It’s a great multi-cooker that produced excellent results during testing, it’s very easy to use and really would suit most people looking for a multi-cooker that can also air fry and bake, but if you’re on a budget there are less expensive options so long as you’re happy to switch lids.

The time to build steam will take roughly 20 minutes, depending on the amount of ingredients in the pot and the starting temperature of those ingredients. This supports the following SKUs: OL550UK, OL650UK, OL650UKCP, OL650UKDBCP, OL750UK and OL750UKDBCP. To steam broccoli, we again followed the advice in the cooking chart, adding water to the pot and putting our broccoli florets on the reversible rack. Start with one section and work in both clockwise and anti-clockwise directions until gently working the last section of the silicone ring under the rack.I currently start off the fish in the air fryer then have to swap to my combi (microwave +) oven so that I can air fry the chips. If you’re looking to cook pieces of meat, poultry or fish for a family, your oven still might be the best option. Pressure cooking was highly impressive, producing wonderfully tender meats, pulses and rice, and particularly so when Ninja’s own timing guide was followed. The preheat was nine minutes and at the end of cooking, we flicked the pressure release valve to the vent position which took three and half minutes and registered 77dB on our decibel meter, which is equivalent to the sound a car traveling at 65mph makes.

They do have multiple cooking functions and you can achieve most of the same results in a standard multi cooker that you can with the SmartLid model but it you will have to use multiple functions instead of pressing one button and letting the cooker get on with it, like steaming/pressure cooking first and then air fry instead of steam air fry for example. Well to start with if you have separate devices like an air fryer, a slow cooker, a pressure cooker, a steamer, a grill, an oven and a dehydrator you need a lot of space in your kitchen. To open the lid, move the SmartLid Slider™ to either Combi-Steam (position 2) or Air Fry/Hob (position 3) and use the front handle above the SmartLid Slider to lift the lid. The Air Fry/Hob mode presents an even wider variety of cooking methods – Air Fry, Grill, Bake, Dehydrate, Sear/Sauté, Steam Slow Cook and Yogurt, while the Pressure function locks the lid firmly and is only used for pressure cooking. You can fit a 2 kg whole chicken in this cooker which means that you can can cook meals for up to four people. I was also impressed by the way it all shuts off when you lift the lid mid program and continues where it left off when you close the lid again. But this thing has proved to be so practical, fast and easy to use – and with very little washing up in the process – that I think it may become a permanent fixture for quick-fix lunches, slow-cooked stews and even the occasional pressure-cooked vegetation.
